Metro Detroit Operation Smile: Upcoming Events and How You Can Help

Metro Detroit Operation Smile is planning a few important events this year, and we would love your support. These events are a chance to give back, support children with cancer, and help save lives through bone marrow donation.

Here is what we have coming up:

Bone Marrow Donor Drive at Wayne State – August 28, 2025

We are partnering with NMDP (formerly known as Be The Match) to host a bone marrow donor drive at Wayne State University. If you are between the ages of 18 and 40, you can stop by and see if you are a match for someone in need. The process is simple, and you could help save a life. Time and location details will be announced soon.

Bone Marrow Donor Drive at Mother of God Church – Fall 2025

If you can't make it to the Wayne State drive, we will have another chance to join the registry this fall at Mother of God Church in Southfield. More details will be shared as the date gets closer.

Toy Drive for Beaumont and Mott’s Children’s Hospitals – October 1 to November 30, 2025

We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for kids with cancer at Beaumont and Mott’s Children’s Hospitals. The toy collection will run from October 1 to November 30. The toys will be delivered in December to help bring some joy to children and their families during the holiday season.
